The Angel of the North is a quirky, touching, coming-of-age road movie and romance – a roller coaster journey through loss, love, and the weirdness of growing up and discovering new worlds. When Percy, a recently orphaned, sixteen-year-old oddball loner, uncovers hidden facts about the father he’s never known and an explanation for his weird name, he sets out on a grail-like quest to discover more. But he doesn’t bargain on falling in love with Lou, an eighteen year-old girl, on the run from her possessive ex-convict boyfriend.

Set during a long hot summer along the gaudy, rugged and ancient splendours of the North East coast of England, it offers a wealth of dramatic landscapes from the former coalfields of Yorkshire through to the spiritual beauty of Holy Island.
